In this thread it would be cool to list references to other writing that helps us understand iPad's place in the world.
As developers we need to understand this subject well in order to write apps that are approrpriate for it. Let me start things off with this one... Future ShockThe comments are just as fascinating, and I add my thoughts on page 5 about all the great and foolish comments on pages 1..4. Just because you work in the industry doesn't automatically mean you understand your industry, in the same way that just because you're a man doesn't mean you are automatically a good husband. Mark |

When I went to WWDC last year the guy standing behind me was wearing a gray t-shirt with a star on it and the words "Daring Fireball."
I asked him what that was, thinking it must be a reference to a super hero comic strip or graphic novel I hadn't yet heard about. Well, if any of you don't know about John Gruber's Daring Fireball site, go there now and set up an RSS feed to keep up with what he posts. John Gruber provides a wonderful service. He goes through all the crap out there on the web and then lets us know about the gems, along with his own keenly observed comments. |

This should probably be the first thing people read when they find themselves curious about the iPad, a well-written blog post by Steven Frank... (Thanks again to John Gruber.)
